Introduction
Welcome on the partner auction platform!
You will find here some tips about the use of the platform.
The navigation on the platform is simple: on the left, you will find a navigation menu, divided into two groups: „Purchase" (with all the steps of the purchase) and „User account". You can open both groups with a click on [+], and close them with a click on [-].
In the vehicle lists, on the left of every vehicle, you will find a checkbox, and, at the end of the list, an action-box. You will be able to execute directly one action for several objects. To execute an action, the object(s) must be ticked. Then you can choose an action, which will be automatically executed (you won't need to click on „Save“).
1. How to register on the platform
Click on the link „Registrer". The registration is in 3 steps:
first, you will have to fill your company data in, and then your user data.
1.1. Entering company data
The bold fields must be filled in. The other fields are non-mandatory.
Please enter the company's complete denomination (for instance „Smith Auto Ltd.“)
1.2. Entering user data
1.2.1. User name
Please choose the user name with which you would like to log in, for instance „smith_auto“ or your e-mail address.
1.2.2. Trading licence
Users with the „Trading licence“ can place bids and buy articles. You must have the authorization to make those transactions for your company.
Users without the „Trading licence“ can look for vehicles on the platform and see their description. However, they cannot bid.
1.3.Confirmation of the registration
The registration is valid as soon as the buyer has accepted the General Trade Conditions and printed and sent per fax the final registration form.
2. How to request a new password
If you have forgotten your password, you can request a new one in the link „New password".
Enter your user name and the e-mail address used by the system. After a few minutes, you will receive an e-mail with a new „cryptic“ password.
CHANGE THIS PASSWORD in the navigation link „User account“ / „My user account“.
3. How to look for an article
3.1. Current offers
In the menu „Purchase", you can click on „Current offers" to see the articles that you can purchase.
You can use the filters if you are looking for a make, model or construction type.
You can also use the sorting function.
If you click on one of the objects on the list you will get a full description of the article with basic information, equipment, condition and pictures.
3.2. Advanced search
In „Advanced search", you will be able to limit your search to a particular criteria. For instance, you can look for vehicles with a defined kilometer reading or registration date.
3.3. Search parameters
If you are often looking for articles with the same criteria, you can save those criteria and directly go to „Search parameters“.
Diese Suchvorlage können Sie unter dem Menüpunkt „Detailsuche“ erstellen und speichern, indem Sie unten im Feld „Suche unter folgendem Namen speichern“ einen Namen eingeben und auf „ausführen“ klicken.
4. How to buy an article
To see the offers, click on „Current Offers" in the menu „Purchase".
You can choose an object in the list. You have 3 purchase options: Auction, Buy it now and Open offer. Click on the name of the article to see its informations, equipment, condition, pictures and selling terms.
If you want to place a bid for an object, you should write your amount in the field „Amount", and click on „Submit".
You will be redirected to a confirmation screen. Please check the entered amount carefully. To confirm your bid, enter your password and click on "Confim". To change the amount, you should click on „Back“, and make another bid.
Once the bid has been placed, you receive a confirmation e-mail. You will find the object in "List of bids".
There are 3 different purchase options:
4.1. Auction
You can enter your maximal bid (the maximal amount you would be ready to pay for the object).
Nobody will be able to see your maximal bid. Your maximal bid will be automatically compared to the bids from the other bidders.
The current price will be: the second best bid + a bid step. (You will only pay the equivalent or your maximal bid if another bidder has given the same bid amount).
If you have bidded over the starting price, and if you are the highest bidder at the end of the auction, you will be the buyer of the article. If another bidder makes a higher bid than yours, you will be immediately informed by e-mail that you are not the best bidder any more, and that you should make a new bid to buy the article.
Example:
The starting price of the offer 1111 is 5.000 €. The bid step is 100 €.
Buyer A places a 6.000 € bid. The seller won't be able to see this bid. He will only be informed about the current price (here 5.000 €).
If Buyer B places a 7.000 € bid, the seller will be informed that the current price is 6.100 € (the second best bid is 6.000 € + a bid step 100 €).
Buyer B will buy the object at the current price (6.100 €) if he is the highest bidder at the end of the auction.
4.2. Buy it now
Some auctions have the „Buy it now" option. If you are ready to pay for the object at the instant price, you can enter this amount and click on „Buy it now". Once you have confirmed this purchase with your password, the article is yours!
4.3. Open offer
You can enter the amount („Open bid") you would like to pay for the object. The seller will have the possibility to accept or refuse your bid. You will be informed per e-mail about this decision.
The starting price will not change and you will not receive any information about the bids from other bidders.
Example:
Buyer A places a 9.000 € bid for an object.
For the same object, Buyer B places a 8.000 € bid.
The seller can choose the bid he wants, regardless of its amount. If he often works with Buyer B, he will be able to accept his bid, even if it's not the highest bid.
5. Other Tips
5.1. Watching offers
If you are interested in an object from the current offers, you can watch it: click first in the checkbox on the left of the object, and choose the action "watch" in the list under the vehicles. It is also possible here to specify your search with the filter above the list. In „Watched offers", you will find all the offers that you have chosen to watch.
5.2. List of bids
In „List of bids" you will see all the objects for which you have already placed a bid.
5.3. Purchased offers
In „Purchased offers“, you will find a list with all the objects you have bought in the same year. .
6. User account
6.1. The different user levels
6.1.1 User
The user can see vehicles, make bids and put objects on line.
6.1.2 Location leader
In addition to the rights of the simple user, the location leader can edit the location data and add new users in „User account“.
6.1.3 Company leader
In addition to the rights of the location leader, the company leader can edit the company data and add new locations in „User account“.
6.2. My company
In „My company“, the company leader can edit the company data.
6.3. Locations
In „Locations“, the company leader and the location leader can edit the location data, and the company leader can create new locations.
6.4. Users
The location leader can administrate all his location's users in „Users“.
The location leader can see in the list different informations about the users:
- activated (green tick)
- trading licence (green banknote)
- location leader (medal)
- number of visited pages (page with a green arrow)
- number of logins (key with a green arrow)
- last login (key)
If the location leader blocks a user, the user data will still be available for him. They won't be deleted.
In „Add new employee“, the location leader will be able to create an account for a new user. He will assign a user name and password to him. The new user will be able to edit his password after logging in.
An important point is that the location leader must decide whether the new user will have an authorization to purchase objects (whether he will have a trading licence).
6.5. My user account
Every user can see, edit his personal data or change his password. The user can also edit the e-mail notification parameter.
